Biologists’ favorite worm gets viruses

A workhorse of modern biology is sick, and scientists couldn’t be happier. Researchers at the School of Medicine and other institutions have found that the nematode C. elegans, a worm used for decades to study many aspects of biology, gets naturally occurring viral infections. FULL STORY

Bearly Drivers carpool program celebrates anniversary

The Bearly Drivers carpool program celebrated its one-year anniversary in January by giving away an iPad. The program allows full-time employees on the Danforth, North and West campuses to save money through reduced driving and parking costs, reserve in-demand parking spots, and win prizes through monthly drawings.   • Swimming & diving sweeps dual meet. The men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams swept a dual meet at Principia College Jan. 21. The men’s team picked up a 106-86 victory, while the women’s team won 119-56. The meet was the final competition for both WUSTL squads before the University Athletic Association championships Feb. 16-19 in Rochester, N.Y.
